Dan and I flew to Maine for his uncle Stanley’s 75 birthday weekend celebration. Stanley later told us all when we went out to dinner that when you turn 75, the only thing you want for your birthday is to have your family around you. What a sweet guy. Anyway, it’s the unofficial start of summer and we headed off on a fun adventure up north!

Here we are in a taxi to the airport at 7am:

On the plane by 9:30am:

…and in Maine by 11am!

Dan’s cousin Jeremy and his wife Melanie picked us up from the airport. Off to the beach resort we go!

and then to lunch…

Afterwards, we went to stock up on some snacks. It was there, that Dan discovered the imported beer aisle.

and they sell liquor at the grocery store here, too!!! (We don’t have this at the grocery stores in Pennsylvania.)

Later, we met up with the family on Dan’s mother’s side (Dan’s mother was Stanley’s sister) and we all went out to dinner. It was awesome seeing everyone again (I had met some family at Melanie and Jeremy’s wedding) and others, I met for the first time. Later, we headed back to the rooms.

Tamir and Jen hosted Mother’s Day. Thanks for having us! Happy day to Jen and Ella, the two moms of the party!

As you can see from the photos above, I’m pretty good at the self-portrait; but I’m not the only one who likes taking pictures! It looks like Aviva’s getting pretty good at the self-portrait, too!

It was a beautiful day to run around and play with Aviva, Leo and Ellie.

Nicole and I work together and have been talking about her wedding since before I got married last July! So finally the day came and went, and now she’s married like me! Congratulations to the two of you, it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding!

Here’s to a happy life!!! Thanks for the wonderful wedding!

It’s been a while since I taught a dance class! However, everything came back to me when I subbed for my friend Scott. Good times at the gym! Woo hoo!

Dan and I had some gift cards we decided to take advantage of for massages at the Loews Hotel, so we spent a Sunday afternoon hanging out and pampering ourselves.

This was the day before our 2-year-anniversary of our first date! I can’t believe we’ve been together for 2 years now, and married for just over 9 months! Time sure passes by quickly!

Anyway, I brought the underwater camera to the pool.

This year, Passover was really lovely. My parents and the Fishmans got together to rent out a cafe for the holiday. It was nice to have lots of space for everyone. Dan even brought his keyboard to play songs from the Passover Seder. Here are the pics and videos:

I made chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered grapes! (Dan made curried deviled eggs.)

Packing all of our stuff up in boxes led to some mixed emotions.

I had lived in Old City for 10 years — 6 and a half in this apartment. Dan was here for about a year and a half.

Anyway, everything was all packed and then the movers came and took it all away.

Going…

Going…

Gone.

The new tenants move in next month, as Dan and I head off to our next adventure!

Since I couldn’t make it to Aviva’s birthday, I spent a whole day with her by myself!

Our day of fun started when I picked her up from school. Once in the car, I gave Aviva her birthday present: A story book all about her, incorporating lots of the photos I’ve taken of her through the years!

Then I took Aviva to “Sweet and Sassy,” which is a beauty salon for kids. Aviva got her nails polished and got a sparkly thing weaved into her hair.

Off to the park! Aviva had gotten a camera from her parents for her birthday, so we both took pictures while we played.

…and back to playing in the park!

We soon noticed that the park has a volleyball pit, complete with sand — perfect for building sandcastles!!!

The sand was cool and soft between our toes.

Aviva was determined to cover my feet with sand:

Later, we went out for some birthday ice cream… a big huge sundae for the birthday girl! Delicious!

Aviva, I love you so much!!!

I can’t believe Aviva is six years old, she’s getting so big! I keep telling my niece to slow down and stop growing up so fast, but she doesn’t seem to be listening.

Well, happy birthday sweetheart!

Erica and Dan came to the party with me, where we caught up with some other friends — Megan, Jamyra, Hughe and more!

I especially love how they made the carousel room the “VIP” room at the party!
