I spent the day with my family — Dan and Geffen. When I called to wish my mom a happy Mother’s Day, I expected her to say, “you too!” Instead, I had to remind her to wish me a happy Mother’s Day as well and she said that she forgot that I’m also a mom and she has to get used to it! Oh, Ella.

Anyway, I had the best Mother’s Day ever with my family.

Dan let me sleep in, got me breakfast in bed, then got me a massage. Later, we had a family picnic in the park, walked around Rittenhouse Square together, took a look at the million dollar condos off the square that were on display for an open house, browsed Barnes and Noble Bookstore and then when we went home he made the most wonderful steak, corn and potato diner for me.

Absolutely the perfect day! Thank you Dan and Geffen for making today so special! I really, really enjoyed my Mother’s Day!

Though it was hard to take a 10-week-old infant on vacation, we did it! And Geffen did great with the traveling! He’s our little jet-setter!

Here’s my little beach baby, Geffen. I’ve noticed that almost all of our vacation photos are of him!

The coolest part about this family vacation was that we were together with Tali and Gene’s family! Tali, Gene, and 3-year-old twins Elan and Zev were with Dan, Geffen and I. As Tali said, we’re like family now! (Although Tali and I have been like family since we were kids.) Now the kids know Geffen — and it was so cute how interested they were in baby Geffen! In a few years, they’ll all be running around together!

We celebrated Gene’s birthday today, which Dan pointed out to me is also May the Fourth, International Star Wars Day, as in “May the Fourth be with you.” Happy birthday, Gene!

We woke up very, very early in order to leave the house with a sleepy little Geffen at 5:00 in the morning and make our flight.

But we did it! We got to the airport with all of our stuff, and despite our concerns, Geffen flew like a champ!

Geffen was 9 and a half weeks old; midway through our trip he turned ten weeks old. Going on vacation with an infant was a challenge, but so much fun! It was so great to show Geffen his first beach!
