First day of port hopping

At 7am, we felt the boat move. We sailed from Bodrum to a Turkish port called Kniedos where we all ate our first breakfast together.

We are an international group of 14 travelers. Dan and I are the only Americans, there’s a Canadian couple and the rest are Germans; a young couple that look to be in their 20′s, 2 couples that look to be in their 40′s or 50′s or so and 2 couples that look to be in their 60′s. (we’re all represented, from the 20′s to the 60′s!) Luckily, everyone speaks varying degrees of English so we can communicate with all, and everyone is so super nice.

After breakfast, we explored the ruins at Kniedos including an ancient amphitheater. It was so hot.

After we got our fill of exploring, we sailed to Palamutbuuk where we stopped for a swim…

Then we sailed again to another area for more swimming. (At this location, we blew up some rafts to use in the water.)

Lunchtime!

Tea time!

This swimming cove where we would dock for the night was a port named Gokliman. Swimming, dinner, snorkeling and later sleep… but for now, lets make use of those rafts!

We swam, ate and hung out around the dinner table and talked until we got tired and peeled off for bed one by one. These gentle seas rock us to bed every night and Dan tells me he is starting to feel like everything is moving, even when we’re on solid ground.
