Shabbat Dinner with mom and dad
Mom and dad didn’t suspect a thing when Dan and I invited them over to our house for a Shabbat dinner with us downtown.
Dan set a beautiful table! I snapped a photo of it as we were waiting for my parents, his in-laws, to arrive.
Dan made a Challah in the shape of an “8.” My little brother and my sister-in-law are due to have their first child in September. That will be my parents’ 7th grandchild… so when we started talking about their 8th grandchild, you can see in my mom’s face that she thought I was talking about Isaac, and that I had miscalculated the number of grandkids in the family. Her reaction to our big news is priceless; and it’s pretty amazing, because at this early point, I can hardly believe it myself!
