FEAST-ival

What a FEAST!!! It was Philadelphia’s 2nd annual celebration for the culinary arts!

Feastival is a fundraiser for the Philly Fringe and Live Arts Festival. Over 60 of Philadelphia’s best restaurants present dishes for guests to savor; there’s an extensive auction, and usually the mayor and other political notables show up to support the arts, too. (The mayor likes to auction off a World Series seat in the mayor’s box that usually goes for thousands of dollars.) Anyway, this year the party was held at the new Race Street Pier and it was so much fun!

Here’s Dan and I on the red carpet!

And of course it’s not a party without your friends! We saw lots of friends and collegues at this event. (Dan tells me this is his favorite media party so far.)

Here’s chef Michael Solomonov of Zahav, Percy Street BBQ and the upcoming Federal Donuts, blowtorching a donut to eat:

Harry Darling of Darling’s Diner with samples of their famous cheesecake:

?uestlove of The Roots is expanding from the musical arts to the culinary arts — he’s dabbling in southern food with fried chicken… and it was incredibly good!

There were acrobats flying above us during the party!

Le Bec Fin executive chef Georges Perrier:

Restaurant mogul Stephen Starr and his business partner Aimee Olexy (of Talula’s Garden restaurant)

Philly Chit Chat blogger Hughe Dillon is never without his camera!

George and Vasiliki Tsiouris of Opa Restaurant:

Presentations and a live auction with restaurateurs Stephen Starr, Audrey Claire Taichmann, Michael Solomonov and former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell:

We left the party full and happy and perhaps even a little bit buzzed. What a fun night out with my husband!!!
