Israel: Day 4

Road Trip South

We got up EARLY and left Tel-Aviv around 8am. With snacks and drinks and our day bags packed with bathing suits, we were ready to go! Off on a road trip to the Dead Sea! We were ready for a few hours in the car.

We were headed down to the lowest point on earth…. so as we drove into the desert and we saw a sign that read, “sea level” we decided to jump out of the car and take a photo. Here we go below sea level from here!

It would be a little longer before we got to our destination….

Finally there! Here we are in the Sulfur Pool at Mineral Beach at the Dead Sea.

After a quick rinse and a massage, we walked down to the dead sea where we found mineral-rich mud that made our skin amazingly smooth.

(why why why! Eyzeh Botz!)

Later…

After our time at the Dead Sea, we checked into our hostel at the foot of Massada, where our guide met us in the lobby. We decided to do a bit of adventure hiking an rapelling in a salt cave! And so Moshe took us out to the caves around the banks of the Dead Sea:

After our hike, we got to the entrance of our salt cave, into which we rapelled, and then our guide Moshe lowered us 70 meters down. It was amazing!

Salt Cave Isaac:

Apparently, the salt cave is a rare sight.

And finally, we came to the end of our cave tour, as we found the exit to the cave!
