Say Yes To The Dress?
My mom, a sister-in-law and a group of girlfriends came with me as I tried on wedding dresses for the first time.
We went out to Van Cleave salon in Paoli. My wedding consultant Abby was so easy going, she really helped me relax. What an exciting day! I was trying on wedding dresses! It was so surreal. It was just as I had imagined it — coming out in those dresses, just like in the show, “Say Yes To The Dress”!
The first time I stepped up on that platform in front of the mirror, with everyone sitting around me was amazing. The best part was, I actually found several dresses that looked good on me, and expanded my vision to dresses I never would have considered since those looked good, too.
Soon after the first dress excursion, I went with some other friends to another bridal salon where I tried on several ball gowns. They were beautiful, but after thinking about them, those dresses really weren’t for me and I kept gravitating back to one particular modern dress I tried on during the first excursion.
It was decision time. I had to choose a dress so that it could be ordered and arrive in time for the big day, so my mom and one of my sister-in-laws returned to Paoli. Abby showed me a variation of one of the dresses I loved… and after a bit of negotiating, we bought it!!!!! Abby popped some champagne — I said yes to the dress!!!!
