Afternoon at the Movies

December 29, 2010

Hanging out with Leo and Aviva

I took advantage of my evening work schedule and spent the day with my niece and nephew.

I took Aviva and Leo to the movies to go watch “Yogi Bear.”

Popcorn!

Poor Leo with his pink eye.

Aviva sat through the movie like a champ. Leo got a little fidgety. He wanted to climb over seats and wondered, “Is this the last part?” Luckily, I had some candy in my purse to keep them interested. I’d say, they actually did pretty well at the movies!

Little vending machine prizes were a treat that they each chose as a reward for going to the potty. So this is what ages 3 and 4 are like?

Off to McDonalds for lunch because they have a play area…

…but the play area was snow covered. Aviva and Leo tried to climb the contraption that led to the slide, but it was a little slippery. Aviva wanted to climb all the way up, but not without Leo who was too scared of the ice to continue climbing up. Unfortunately, he was also too scared to make his way down. I climbed inside the McDonalds playpen for the amazing rescue.

Time to go home and warm up out of the snow, where coloring was a better activity.

Soon, it was time for me to catch a train back to the city. Jen parked the car and brought the kids over to the benches to wait for the train with me because Leo said he wanted to see it. Oh, what a big train! Since Leo always sees me getting off the train, Jen told me Leo said he thinks I live on the train!

Bye bye kids! Time for me to go back to the city! Off to work I go!
