This was a significant Thanksgiving for Dan and I; it was the first time his dad and Harriett met my parents! They came by to our house and we all drove to the suburbs together.
But first… I forgot something in the condo and had to run back and get it. When I opened the door, the cats were looking too cute and I had to snap a quick photo. This is them wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving!
Here we are at my parents’ house:
Ellie was looking pretty cute on Thanksgiving, too and since she wanted to be held by everyone, she’s in lots of these photos.
Ellie decided that this little rocking pony would be her pet for the night.
She didn’t want to let go if it, even when Isaac picked her up! Oh, she made me laugh so much.
Time for dinner! Here’s mom making a toast of all she’s thankful for:
After dinner, Dan gave all the kids chocolate turkeys.
Then Dan and his dad provided the musical entertainment while the kids danced.
When it was time for dessert, mom put out all the cakes and pies and chocolate. Isaac and Courtney had their contribution, too: the top layer of their wedding cake from 2 and a half years ago. It’s customary to eat it after a year, but this was good, too. Actually, I wouldn’t know; I didn’t taste it.
But Isaac and Courtney took a bite!!!! (They’re so brave.)
More playtime, and then it was time to go. It was a long, tiring, fun day.
