Clay Cliffs
Dan and I spent the morning and part of the afternoon on the west side of the island visiting Gay Head, the Indian Reservation.
It took us about 45 minutes to drive to the other side of Martha’s Vinyard. We drove until we got to the edge of the island and the cliffs were beautiful.
We took in the beauty of Gay Head.
Yes, we got a kick out of Gay Head.
We walked over to the Gay Head cultural center where a nice American Indian woman gave us a tour of a reservation house.
Clay sand art:
Another nice american Indian guy told us about rocks and arrowheads. We got the impression there weren’t a lot of visitors in the off-season and they were excited to show us around. It was cute.
On the way back to Edgartown we stopped into a quaint chocolate shop.
Later back at the cottage, Dan cooked steaks.
Later
Dan and I walked around downtown Edgartown at night. The bars and restaurants were open — so were some of the shops.
