Back in Bodrum, Boat City!
As we approached our last day on the boat I was feeling a little sad to leave what had been our home for the past week, but also happy to get off sea and excited to explore Turkey.
Our crew was awesome and I will miss them!
Here we are approaching our final dock: Back in Bodrum!
That last day was a special one for Marlo, it was her birthday!
We would be spending one final night on the docked boat, so we had one more chance to see this city. Since we got there at a reasonable hour, Marlo and I decided to go for a run and explore as the sun was getting ready to set.
(How did they know I was coming???)

Sunset in Bodrum!

Our final dinner on the boat:
And an amazing chocolate mousse for dessert!
After dinner, mostly everyone was tired; but Ken and I wanted to see the town at night, so we went out for some more exploring.
Bodrum was kickin! At 1am, shops, restaurants, clubs, bars were all busy!
Then we got to this crazy club, Halikarnas. Apparently, it’s a Ministry of Sound dance club. This is where they throw foam parties. Marlo even sent me the link before we got to Turkey to tell me about it.
The club was a huge, open air structure. We could see inside. It was crowded — and while it looked fun, we were also very tired so we didn’t go in.
Here’s a pic of some girls taking photos of an inspirational dancer inside the club:
So we danced a little outside… and then made our way back to the boat. As we walked back, we saw lots of single guys sitting by themselves, one to a bench, on the quiet side of the dock. Ken pointed out to me that Bodrum has a big gigalo population and that that lifestyle is hidden right there in plain view. Once he pointed it out to me, I saw it! One guy to a bench waiting for a fare. Fascinating. We looked at the guys, then looked at some souveniers, then it was time for bed. We had early morning the next day!!!!

You guys are so good…working out while on vacation. Love it. Also love the “breasts ahead” road sign. (Seriously though, what was that for?). The chocolate mousse looked delicious…can you bring some home?!

I think that sign meant slow down, road bumps ahead. Isn’t that funny? I’m actually in Israel now (I’m behind on the blogging but will try and get up to date soon!) and my cousin promised he’d run with me! My aunt baught these awesome chocolate puddings that I love here called “milky” and “dani” so it’s non-stop awesome food! I love love love that you are following along on my trip! I miss you, Allison!
