Dutch Wonderland

Kiddie coasters and fun!

Dutch Wonderland is an amusement park specifically geared towards little kids. I spent the day there with Tamir, Jen and their kids.

I had spend the night over at their house after dad’s bbq. The previous night, I read the kids a story that Leo chose, but it was getting late so I told Aviva if she came up to my room in the morning, I would read her book to her then. she certainly didn’t forget I was there! In the morning, she got up, woke up Leo and the two of them crawled into bed with me to read… and to jump on the bed! It was so cute!

We got up and got ready and headed off to the amusement park, where it was so cute watching those kids ride the rides!

After that first ride, Leo got a little scared; but Tamir and Jen were determined to make him love it and try as many rides as possible! Next ride: the Airplane!

That ride was better… but then Leo got excited to see trains! This was a gentle ride that even Ellie could ride. Tamir and Jen had to push her, since she couldn’t pedal herself along the tracks.

Okay, enough of this kids’ stuff. Brave Aviva agreed to ride a faster ride with me — the frog whirl!

More rides:

Cotton Candy break!

Aviva and Ellie ride a ride together. I have to say, I was so impressed by Aviva who took such good care of Ellie. Aviva really knows how to comfort Ellie, she’s such a sweet big sis!

Back to the cotton candy:

At this point, Jen and Tamir decided that Ellie was warmed up and ready to ride the faster rides with Aviva and Leo.

But I don’t think they expected the bumblebee ride to go so fast! As soon as the ride started to blast off, Tamir and Jen felt bad — but that didn’t keep them from laughing! You can see poor Ellie holding on for dear life and Jen a few people down from Tamir at the end of the video covering her mouth (in shock?)

But Ellie is a real sport who surprised us all when it seems she wasn’t scared at all and actually liked the fast ride!!!!

Bumper Cars!

Ellie gets some snacks:

Aviva and I ride the rollercoaster!

Aviva and Leo rock the coaster bikes at the park:

We watched a princess diving show:

Then we were off to go on more rides! We stood in line for the log flume and it was getting hot. The kids were cracking me up as they climbed all over the bars in the waiting line.

Finally on the log flume!

Second half of the day: Water Park!

It takes teamwork to sunscreen Ellie:

The waterpark area was a bunch of puddles, fountains and some mini-slides, perfect for little kids to cool off in.

Lots of waterpark fun!

This one boy at the waterpark took a liking to Ellie and started following her around.

Here, Ellie discovers a fountain of water.

Leo couldn’t take it anymore.

A couple of hours later, we got dressed. On the way out of the park, Tamir, Leo, Aviva and I hopped on the park train. (Leo who loves trains was excited about that!)

It was a very long, fun, exhausting day.

The end.
