Those Crazy Kids
After running some errands and getting stuff done for myself, I spent the latter part of my day off on Monday out in the burbs with my brother’s family. His kids always make me happy. Jen and I hooked up Tamir’s bike trailer to my bicycle and Aviva, Leo and I were off on an adventure.
They looked so cute in their bike helmets!
We went off to explore the nearby creek, but it wasn’t much of a creek so we settled for the nearby playground.

Swings:
Back to climbing and sliding…. in this video, Aviva and Leo start annoying each other. What was funny to me was that afterwards, they wanted to watch the videos I shot. They kept wanting to watch this video in particular. Something about it cracked them up — the word poop? The spitting? The arguing? I don’t know but they found it hilarious.
Underdog! Aviva and Leo are not afraid of swinging really high. They kept wanting me to run underneath them.
Soon, we decided to get back into the bike carriage and find another adventure. On our way to get ice cream, we noticed the Fort Washington Fire Station doors were open so we stopped by to look at the big fire trucks.
Firefighter Joe at the fire station showed us around.
Joe let us sit in the truck.
He showed the kids the firefighters’ oxygen mask.
Joe let Aviva and Leo play with the fire flashlights for a little bit.
Then it was off for ice cream, and back home to Tamir, Jen and little Ellie whom Jen said kind of wanted to come with us. (Ellie, I’m sorry! We only had two spaces in the bike trailer!)
Back home, Leo and Ellie play.
Tamir took some photos of Ellie…
of himself…
and of me reading to Leo and Aviva.
Bedtime! Earlier in the day, Leo said Aviva was his best friend. I thought that was so adorable.
Later, a friend came to pick me up and we went out for coffee. I was so tired! I love hanging out with those kids, but they sure wipe me out by the end of the day!
