Surprise!!!
I’m not sure if it’s such a great idea to pack your friends into an apartment in Philly for a birthday surprise. It seemed Liz noticed there were people in her boyfriend’s apartment a few seconds before he turned on the light and we yelled surprise. She told us later she thought Pete was being burglarized and was about to bolt out the door. As you can see in this video, she’s in shock, recovering from her near-heart attack. Surprise!!!!
Ah, good fun!
Then it was cake time… Liz’s very talented friend Adam made this amazing birthday cake. He said it didn’t come out right, but then he put it in these wine glasses and I thought it was great, even though he called it a “caketastrophy” I call it delicious!
Then it was off to Fado for some birthday drinks and good cheer!
Mike and I left for a bit to go eat dinner. We came back (entering through the side door to Liz’s private room — good thing, too; the place was packed by the time we returned!) and socialized for a bit before heading home.
