Mike’s Birthday

January 31, 2010

Happy 33rd Birthday, Mike!

We ventured out to the suburbs the day before Mike’s actual birthday and all his friends came out to celebrate with all-you-can-eat sushi.

He said no gifts, but Johnny couldn’t resist giving Mike a toy motorcycle. (Mike and his bike!)

That bike came in handy when Tamir showed up with his kids. Leo was very interested in Mike’s toy bike.

And both Aviva and Leo got very interested in the birthday balloons as soon as they noticed them, and realized we could untie them and they could have them!

There were three tables of Mike’s friends out to celebrate his birthday!

Here’s Johnny taking the lead on the “Happy Birthday” song, complete with a birthday oyster for Mike:

Then the Minado staff came over to sing, and hand Mike a purple parasol (just what he’s always wanted, I’m sure)!

I had fun with everyone, and also playing with me neice and nephew. I think they had a good time, hanging out with all the adults.

Happy Birthday, Mike!

The next day…

Sunday was Mike’s actual birthday, the previous day was his dad’s birthday so on his actual birthday, we went out to dinner at Azteca with his parents, some friends of theirs and some friends of Mike’s.

There were gigantic frozen drinks:

and talented waiters who carried arm-loads of plates! (We were very impressed by that.)

Then it was time for the Mike and Mike’s birthday cake — Mike’s 33rd birthday, and Mr. Rosenberg’s 69th:

Of course you can’t forget the Mariachi band when you celebrate at a Mexican restaurant!!!!!
