Burn baby, burn
I spent my third day in the Maldives just hanging out by the beach, and despite applying and re-applying sunscreen, it wasn’t enough. I now also managed to sunburn the tops of my feet in addition to my back.
I guess the suncreen I baught in India wasn’t strong enough for me.
It was totally worth it, though.
I’ve never seen beaches like this before and wanted to just soak it all in.
I stayed out on the beach until the sun set.
Later that night, I met Duff and Aoibheann for the best dinner of the Maldives at a restuarant called the Far East. It was Aoibheann’s 31st birthday. The waiters even surprised her with chocolate cake!
We went back to the main bar. folks were drinking and lots of people were on their laptops. I started chatting with this French girl Francoise about her job in fashion in Paris, travel, and other islands worth visiting. She also let me use her computer… and then we befriended each other on Facebook! Haha!
It was a long night. I walked home to my room and melted into my air-conditioning and luxurious sheets.
