Maldives Paradise

January 15, 2010

This place is real?

I have so much to write about the Maldives, but I don’t want to spend so much time online while I’m here, so I’ll just post a few pics and write more later. Also, there was a solar eclipse!!!!! I think the actual type of eclipse is called “annular” or something. I was AMAZING. It happens when the moon is between the sun and the Earth. Apparently, the Maldives, this cluster of tiny islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean is one of the best places in the world to view the eclipse. Those photos will be below. Anyway, I’ll write more about the Maldives later when I return and update my posts. In the meanwhile, I hope all of you in cold Philly get a little warmth out of these photos!

Okay. This is just crazy that it took me like 30 minutes to post two photos. I’ll have to do it later. Sorry!

I have two more days here in paradise… then it’ll actually take me two days and four flights to get home.

My internet has been down since before you left so I’ve had limited opportunities to check your blog and haven’t been able to see the videos at all. I’m glad to hear you’re having such an amazing adventure! Indians were the most hospitable people I’ve ever encountered. They are so trusting and welcoming, it makes me question our values and behavior. It also sounds like you’ve avoided Delhi belly, you lucky girl. Enjoy the rest of your time in paradise!

Yeah, it’s been an amazing trip… didn’t exactly avoid Delhi Belly though. Had several days of liquid poop. TMI? At Heathrow airport now waiting for my connecting flights. (Yes, more than one. Ugh.) I’ll be home tomorrow!
