Kosher BBQ Judging
This was a cute event I was asked to attend at Willow Grove Camp in Hatboro. It was their first annual Kosher Barbecue Contest… and I was asked to be one of the “celebrity” judges!
Here we are, all the judges — and Walter on the far right, the ultimate judging coordinator who is a professional meat grilling judge. I’ll get to that in a minute.

Walter was awesome. He does not mess around. He had a strict method and serious rules about judging the meat. He gave us each a take-away box to put our meat in that day, because if we ate it all we would surely explode. We judged beans, chicken, kosher ribs and briscuit. I think I ate more meat that day than I ate all month. (But I’m not complaining!)
Here I am with Glen “Hurricane” Schwartz from NBC 10 and Pat Ciarrocci of sister station CBS3.

And I sat next to Marc Zumoff, voice of the Philadelphia 76ers. Yes, there was some serious BBQ tasting going on. Can you see our focus?

Tamir and Jen brought the kids over for the fun. Aviva got her face painted. She and Leo bounced on the bouncy toys… but it wasn’t long before the kids got sleepy and cranky and hot. Clearly, it was naptime.

Later…
Mom and dad had some of the family over for a barbecue afterwards (because we didn’t eat enough meat that day) and we played outside by their pool.
Here’s Sagi and Tamir who is holding Ellie.

Jen, on lifeguard duty, is warning the kids against taking a running leap into mom and dad’s pool.
