The big par-tay before the big day
This was one great party in one great space. A huge party was held at the NoLibs Piazza the day before it officially opened. It’s a big open area, surrounded by an apartment complex with restaurants and retail shops on the ground floor. It’s also across the street from all the restaurants at Liberties Walk… so it’s clear that a hot new neighborhood has officially emerged in Philadelphia.
I went with my friend Lucy and we ran into Nigel. (Of course we was there! He’s at EVERY cool party!)
Marlo, Sherri and Sara joined us later… I can’t believe they were even contemplating not coming. They asked me, “Is it fun?” I laughed at them later for asking me that question when they arrived. It was so much fun! It was a beautiful night in a beautiful space with food and drink, music — and later a fashion show, too. Here I am with Jess, Sherri, Marlo and Sara.
So the fashion show was a lingerie show. One thing I found interesting about it was that the show was shown on the giant outdoor screen above the stage as it was happening. When I looked at the screen, the models looked great — lean, tall, really pretty. When I glanced onto the stage, they looked emaciated. I guess the camera does add ten pounds. One of the models was Jasleen Gonzales, the winner of one of the cycles of America’s Next Top Model. Here I am with her:
I thought she might be a little taller. We’re both wearing heels, though. I wore super high heels though, so she is taller than she looks in this photo. So anyway, here in this photo I am an average size 10; but I think I look bigger than that standing next to her. Oh well, models! She was super sweet and came off just as nice in real life as she did on the show.
So… party promoter Tommy Up is opening a burger joint in the Piazza.
I also ran into my friend Hilary.
And at the end of the night, me and my girls did a little dancing in the Piazza as the crowd started to thin out.
