Clearly, I’m a better dancer than I am a runner.
However, with a ten-mile running time of 1:56, I’d say my first ever Broad Street Run was not too bad, considering my goal was to finish in under 2 hours!

So there I was, running ten miles in the rain with 26,000 of my closest running pals down Broad Street in Philadelphia.
My worst fears did not come true. I had three big fears of the day:
1. That I would oversleep.
2. That I would trip and fall, thus getting trampled by thousands of people.
3. That I would clock in as the dead last loser.
I guess it just goes to show that you never know until you try!
The average time for women my age was about 1:30, so I’m going to keep running this summer to try and pick up my speed. Not too bad though for someone who just recently started to enjoy running!
By the way — I didn’t bring a camera on the run. I asked a fellow runner at the snack tent at the end of the race to please please please snap a photo of me and email it to me on her blackberry. From the return email, I know that my photographer was a woman named Andrea Betts. Andrea, if you ever google yourself and this page of my blog comes up, I just want to say thank you so much for taking my post-race pic! I appreciate it!
Well, I’m still sitting here in my wet clothes and race bib. I’m so proud of myself. And now… it’s shower time!!!!!
