DNC: Day 3, morning

August 27, 2008

The DNC means lots of walking

Here I am filing stories for my station on the 3rd DNC day, after the PA delegates’ breakfast. I noticed I was doing so much walking, I actually started to wear holes in my shoes!

Afterwards, I took a walk throughout downtown Denver and discovered it had been totally taken over by politics!

Denver’s 16th Street Mall was PACKED with visitors and activists. It’s an indoor-outdoor mall. I baught a new pair of shoes, here since I knew I had another crazy couple of days of walking ahead of me and my current shoes just weren’t going to make it.

People were selling anything and everything out here. You can fnd everything…. except a cab! When I finally did find a taxi, the driver was so rude. Seems he was fed up with me (and probably so many others) who were in his city, but not familiar with it. I’m sure the locals were happy when the convention was over and they could have their city back.
