Nomination

Hillary Clinton interrupts the roll-call vote in the name of unity to ask that everyone throw their support behind Barack Obama. I’m not sure how everyone felt about that. PA Governor Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Nutter were strong Clinton supporters who later backed Obama. The gov wanted to vote and Pennsylvania didn’t get a chance to do that publicly. He got the delegates to chant, “Let us vote!” I thought that was kinda funny. You can see here that a lot of people were excited that Obama got the nomination, while others who had faught hard for Clinton were taking it all in, digesting the fact that their chosen candidate didn’t win.

…and here you can see A LOT of emotion on the convention floor as Barack Obama is named as his party’s nominee for President of the USA.

More reaction on the Obama nomination from the convention floor.

Another celebrity sighting — Morgan Fairchild is a Democrat with a highly protective entourage and poor hearing.
