The Democratic Party is One Big Party
The big story on the first day of the convention was that the tiny state of Delaware got moved to the front of the convention floor. They got the best seats because a senator from that state — Joe Biden — had been given the democratic vice presidential appointment. As the state that hosts the VP democratic candidate, the DE delgates got treated very well at this year’s DNC.
Over in the Pennsylvania section, Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter talks about the unity theme at the convention. He was a Hillary Clinton supporter who has now gotten behind Obama.
Everywhere you look there are flags and hats. The convention isn’t just about the headliner speeches — it’s also concerts and parties all day.
