Preparing for the Big Event
Finding the Pepsi Center from the airport was insane. After realizing that I had been set up at a hotel that was 30 miles out of Denver in Castle Rock, CO, I realized I would have to rent a car. I called my boss and got authorized to rent a car — that took some time in itself — and then I had to find the Pepsi Center, find a place to park and walk to the gate. It was a long way to walk because the security area was so large and no cars were allowed anywhere near the gate. Molly the intern met me at the gate and took me to the CBS trailer to get my passes.
Inside the trailer, I met up with the staff from CBS, New York — some of which I had spoken to on the phone several times, but never met in person.
Then me, Molly and Steve the CBS tech guy went over to the Pepsi Center to take a look around….
