An Enchanted Evening
That was the theme of their wedding. The reception was in this old castle out in the suburbs. It was really beautiful. The ceremony was in the beautiful church. There was a lot of light from the stained glass windows which made my photos look awesome.
My friends Mindy and Chris unfortunately got stuck in traffic. The made it to the reception but not the ceremony. I felt really bad for them because for months, Mindy had been talking about watching Victor walk down the aisle, and how she wanted to see Liza’s dress as first glance. She’s so particular about time, so when I got there before she did, I could only guess she was freaking out. I texted her that the bridal party was running late… she told me she and Chris got stuck in traffic and were in the car for 5 hours for what was supposed to be a 2 hour car ride. I could only imagine how the conversation went in that car ride. I would NOT have wanted to be in the car with them…
I hobbled into the church and sat down. I caught a ride with a friend Johanna, to the reception. I was a little embarassed showing up with a big old cast on my leg, but what could I do? Everyone was so nice to me and so helpful, but I wasn’t used to all the fuss and so while it was nice, it was a bit strange. I’m used to being so independent, and over the next three weeks I’m going to have to learn how to ask for help. I don’t know why that’s hard for me, but it’s probably a lesson I need to learn. I caught up with Mindy later, at the reception:
As for the wedding — it was gorgeous! Liza looked amazing and you can tell, Victor is so in love with her. Mindy was all waterworks, she couldn’t help it. Our long time friend Vic is now officially off the market! Congrats!
