Border Crossing

At the Jordan-Israel border. Grace and I are on a day tour to Petra. After crossing the border, we’ll take a bus for about two hours through the desert before we get a glimpse of the “hidden city.”

Sand Art

Beduin sand art. So THIS is how they do it! This guy is making sand art for us tourists at the border who might buy something while we wait for our visas to get processed.

Wadi Moses

Our first stop: The Jordanian Fountain of Youth.

Gorge

We’ve finally made it to Petra! Here we are walking down one of the gorges that will lead us to the hidden city.

Treasury: Outsude View

And there’s our first look at one of the mountain carvings! This is the famous “Treasury” where it was believed there were treasures hidden somewhere inside. None were found… isn’t the carving a treasure in itself?

Treasury: Inside View

From the inside you can really see how big this carving is.
