Israel Turns 60: PART ONE

May 1, 2008

The Trip Begins

I’m at Philly International airport, preparing for an exciting travel and reporting adventure, starting with Israel’s upcoming 60th anniversary celebrations.

Heathrow Stopover

The flight to Israel is a long one… made longer with a stopover in London.

Finally at TLV!

And I’m sooooo ready to brush my teeth!

Independence Day Tourists

Tourism is a huge industry in Israel — especially this time of year, for the Independence Day holiday.

Welcome to Israel!

Only in Israel can you get this warm of a welcome… check out the accordion player!

A First Look at Family

My aunt Judy and cousin Neta meet me at Tel-Aviv International Airport.

Saturday Drive Jerusalem

Aunt Judy drives me around to all those interviews I have scheduled in order to complete my radio reports from Israel for the week of Israel’s 60th Independence celebration.
